Garden Studios

While working with U-Build, I specialised in the design and delivery of bespoke modular timber garden studios, developing flexible live–work spaces that balanced craftsmanship, affordability, and beauty. Each design responded to its site and client, drawing inspiration from Scandinavian simplicity and the natural warmth of plywood to create calm, functional, and fun spaces.

The design process began with collaborative client consultations and live 3D modelling, allowing ideas to evolve in real time. I developed detailed designs and planning applications, all of which achieved approval without conditions, before coordinating the transition from design to construction. Many studios featured in-built furniture and adaptable layouts to make compact spaces work intelligently. Working hands-on with the U-Build system deepened my understanding of modular timber construction and how thoughtful detailing can elevate small-scale architecture into something both practical and beautiful.
