As part of the U-Build team, I led the coordination and on-site delivery of bespoke modular timber projects, translating design intent into buildable outcomes. The role allowed me to grow my leadership skills, communicate with different stakeholder groups, and offer a fun and careful approach to problem-solving.
Design and Build
As part of the U-Build team, I managed and delivered a series of bespoke modular timber projects, overseeing every stage from client briefing to on-site completion. Working within a small, fast-paced design and build company allowed me to take a lead role in coordinating design, logistics, and delivery, translating client ambitions, budgets, and timelines into practical, buildable outcomes.
On site, I worked hands-on as a contractor, regularly installing U-Build modular systems for residential clients and contributing to large-scale builds including the RIBA Exhibitions in Liverpool and London, Sustainable Ventures at County Hall, and Ravensbourne University’s Architecture Faculty. I liaised closely with principal contractors, subcontractors, and workshop teams to maintain quality, safety, and communication throughout each build.
My responsibilities included developing construction programmes, managing contracts and budgets, coordinating suppliers, and ensuring deliveries were scheduled efficiently. I produced detailed site documentation and build instructions for contractors, enabling clear sequencing and smooth installation. The role required strong problem-solving skills and calm leadership under pressure, bringing empathy, clarity, and direction to diverse site environments.
Alongside delivery, I supported business development and communication, co-leading product launches, client consultations, and digital content strategy for an audience of over 28,000 followers.
