Community Co-Design Consultation

I led the co-design consultation for the Bristol Community Sauna project, coordinating engagement with local residents, volunteers, and the design team to shape the vision for a new community sauna and gathering space. My role involved planning and facilitating workshops, managing communication between stakeholders, and translating community feedback into clear design outcomes. I ensured the process remained inclusive, transparent, and deliverable, balancing creative ambition with project constraints. The consultation strengthened relationships between community members and the delivery team, resulting in a design that reflected shared values of wellbeing, accessibility, and sustainability.

Following the consultation, the next stage involves developing a masterplan for the sauna site at St Anne’s House. The proposal will include new sauna(s), cold plunges, shower facilities, and a flexible social space designed using natural materials. The design will keeping the co-design consultation feedback at the centre of the design with careful consideration around the green space, ‘wildness’ of the site and inherit calm the site has to offer.
